McKenzie's Cream of Tartar helps stabilise and give more volume to beaten egg whites (1/8 tsp of Cream of Tartar per 30g egg white).
Cream of Tartar in baking: an essential ingredient when making meringues, pavlovas, whipped cream, bread, cupcakes and biscuits.
Ideal for making non-toxic Play Dough; 2 cups plain flour, 4tbs McKenzie's Cream of Tartar, 2 tbs cooking oil, 1 cup salt, food colouring & 2 cups water. Mix the ingredients in a saucepan, stir over medium heat for 3 - 5 minutes or until the mixture congeals.
McKenzie's Cream of Tartar can be used to clean brass and copper cookware.
Making flour with Cream of Tartar: To make 1 cup of self-raising flour, combine 1 cup of plain flour, 1 tsp McKenzie's Cream of Tartar and 1/2 tsp McKenzie's Bi-Carb.
