Preheat oven to 180oC.
Place peeled, halved and cored pears in a baking dish. Fill centre of pears with brown sugar, cinnamon and coconut.
Add water to baking tray. Bake for 40 minutes or until pears are soft. Half way through baking, spoon some of the liquid on the pears to maintain the moisture of the pears.
Spoon pears into bowls and top with cream, custard or ice-cream. Serve immediately.
