Before making the sauce, put on a pot of water and bring to the boil.
Make the sauce: in a large saucepan, heat oil, add garlic paste and gently fry for 1 minute.
Add bacon and pan fry til golden (about 5 minutes). Pour in cream and stir through vegetta, simmer very gently for 2-3 minutes. Do not allow cream to boil.
When the water is boiling, add pasta and cook according to packet directions til al dente or cooked to your liking.
Drain pasta and stir through the carbonara sauce. Season with salt and pepper and enjoy!
