| 375g | McKenzie's Whole Green Lentils |
| or 375g | McKenzie's Red Lentils |
| 2 medium | onions sliced |
| 2 | carrots sliced |
| 2 | celery stalks with leaves sliced |
| 2 | cloves garlic crushed |
| 1 tablespoon | parsley dried |
| 2 tablespoons | olive oil |
| 1 tablespoon | tomato paste |
| 10-12 cups | hot water |
| Dash | vinegar |
| To taste | McKenzie's Australian Natural Sea Salt |
| To taste | McKenzie's Ground Black Pepper |
Directions
Step 1
Wash McKenzie's Whole Green Lentils or McKenzie's Red Lentils and place in a saucepan. Add all ingredients to saucepan (dissolve tomato paste in 1/2 cup of hot water) except McKenzie's Australian Natural Sea Salt and McKenzie's Ground Black Pepper and vinegar.
Step 2
Bring to the boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for about 75 minutes. Add more hot water if required. When cooked add vinegar, McKenzie's Australian Natural Sea Salt and McKenzie's Ground Black Pepper to taste.
Step 3
Serve with crusty bread, feta cheese, olives and sardines.
