| 1 cup | McKenzie's Fine Desiccated Coconut |
| 1 cup | McKenzie's Natural Whole Oats |
| 1 cup | plain flour, sifted |
| 3/4 cup | brown sugar |
| 1/2 cup | butter |
| 2 tablespoons | golden syrup (or honey) |
| 1 teaspoon | McKenzie's Bi-Carb Soda |
| 2 tablespoons | hot water |
Directions
Step 1
Wash your hands!
Step 2
Mix together McKenzie's Fine Desiccated Coconut, McKenzie's Natural Whole Oats, plain flour and sugar in a big bowl.
Step 3
Get Mum to melt butter and golden syrup, while you mix together water and McKenzie's Bi-Carb Soda - add to Mum's mixture and watch it bubble!
Step 4
Add liquid to dry ingredients and mash together thoroughly with both hands!
Step 5
Spoon dollops of mixture onto a baking tray and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Step 6
Notes for Mum:
Bake in pre-heated oven 175C (conventional) or 160C (fan forced).
Optional McKenzie's Ground Cinnamon can be added at Step 2 if desired.
If your kids prefer chewy biscuits, reduce the cooking time by a few minutes.
Let kids measure out the ingredients, while you help them count.
Biscuits need to cool on a wire rack and can be sealed in airtight containers.
