Ingredient |
| 3 tablespoons | olive oil |
| 1 | onion, diced |
| 3 | cloves garlic, finely sliced |
| 1 | red chilli, finely sliced |
| 500 gram | Italian pork sausages, removed from casings |
| 200 ml | chicken stock |
| 150 gram | broccoli florets (bite sized pieces) |
| 1 1/2 | McKenzie's Cannellini Beans |
| 500 gram | rigatoni (or any similar pasta) |
| To taste | McKenzie's Australian Natural Sea Salt |
| To taste | McKenzie's Whole Black Peppercorns |
| 1/3 cup | parmesan cheese, shaved |
Directions
Step 1
In a large saucepan, heat oil and saute onion for 5 minutes or until softened. Add garlic and chilli and cook for a further 2 minutes, stirring. Spoon mixture into a bowl and set aside.
Step 2
Using the same saucepan, saute sausage, breaking it up with the back of a spoon until it cooks. Return onion mixture to the pan. Add broccoli and stock and cook until broccoli is tender, approximately 10 minutes. Season with McKenzie's Australian Natural Sea Salt and McKenzie's Whole Black Peppercorns to taste.
Step 3
While the broccoli is cooking, bring a large pot of water to the boil. Cook pasta until al dente.
Step 4
Add drained McKenzie's Cannellini Beans to sausage mixture and stir until heated through.
Step 5
Add cooked drained pasta to sausage mixture and stir through gently to combine.
Step 6
Serve topped with shaved parmesan cheese.
Step 7
Tips: Use premium quality sausages as this will ensure a quality dish. This is a great dish for kids - just omit the chilli and use any of your childs favourite vegetables.
