Delicous homestyle red lentil soup

| 800g tinned | crushed tomatoes |
| 1 large | onion finely diced |
| 2 | celery sticks diced |
| 375g | McKenzie's Red Lentils |
| 2 | carrots diced |
| 500g | bacon bones |
| 12 cups | water |
| 2 | beef stock cubes |
| 1 | bay leaf |
| To taste | McKenzie's Natural Sea Salt |
| To taste | McKenzie's Whole Black Peppercorns |
Directions
Step 1
Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Cover and simmer for about 60 - 90 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Step 2
Discard bones and bay leaf before serving.
Step 3
Season to taste McKenzie's Whole Black Peppercorns and McKenzie's Natural Sea Salt. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Step 4
Vegetarian Option; Add 3 cloves garlic, peeled. Do not use 500g bacon bones and replace beef stock cubes with vegetable stock cubes.
