Make your own tasty baked beans and save!

| 250g | McKenzie's Haricot Beans |
| 1 dessertspoon | treacle or molasses |
| Half teaspoon | prepared mustard |
| 1 teaspoon | sugar |
| 425g can | tomato puree |
| 1 teaspoon | stock powder, if desired |
| 1 | small onion chopped and sauteed (optional) |
| To taste | McKenzie's Natural Sea Salt |
| To taste | McKenzie's Whole Black Peppercorns |
Directions
Step 1
Prepare and cook beans as directed on packet. Drain, reserving a small quanitity of liquid.
Step 2
Mix together the treacle, mustard and sugar with a small quantity of the tomato puree and stock powder, if desired. Add remaining puree, optional onion and beans and stir together well. Adjust seasoning, place in casserole dish, cover and cook in moderate oven approximately 30 minutes.
Step 3
If sauce reduces too much during cooking, add a little of the reserved cooking liquid. If you don't have time for oven baking, cook and serve the beans straight from the saucepan.
